Whats on in the Community

Pastoral Care

Our Kirk Session is made up of 21 elders who, along with the minister, seek to provide pastoral care for the whole congregation.

In addition, the Pastoral Care Team work specifically to offer Christian friendship and support to a significant number of members of the congregation who are elderly or infirm. They also visit the care homes in the parish.

The weekly distribution of the Church flowers is also used as an opportunity to show the love and care of the Church family for members and friends.

Glennifer Hot Chocolate Cafe

Held in Gleniffer High School on a Thursday lunchtime,  ‘Hot Chocolate’ is place for pupils to come along for a cup of  ‘Hot Chocolate’

The Hot Chocolate Cafe is joint venture between Glenburn, Lylesand and Foxbar Parish churches. Please contact Us for more information.

Chaplaincy work

Our minister is chaplain to Langcraigs Primary School and is also part of the chaplaincy team at Gleniffer High School.

For the primary schools in our parish we run Bubblegum & Fluff and Eastercode with the P6’s of Langcraigs and Bushes. The events combine a series of activities in the church or school.

Our Chaplaincy Outreach programme runs at Gleniffer High School with the Hot Chocolate Cafe every Thursday lunch time, for 1st and 2nd year pupils.

Care homes – Within the parish, there are three care homes. We currently hold occasional services on a Sunday afternoon in Braemount, Hillside View and Stanely Park.
